About the IMC
The IMC provides an interdisciplinary forum for sharing ideas relating to all aspects of the Middle Ages.
Organised by the Institute for Medieval Studies at the University of Leeds, since 1994 the IMC has sought to cultivate the field of medieval studies by bringing researchers from different countries, backgrounds, and disciplines together, providing opportunities for networking and professional development in an open and inclusive environment.
This year delegates from over 50 countries are expected to descend on the University campus, presenting around 2,000 papers covering the full range of medieval studies, from archaeology and material culture to theology and philosophy, consolidating the IMC’s position as the largest academic conference of its type in Europe.
In addition to the academic programme, the IMC also hosts a wide variety of concerts, exhibitions, fairs, and excursions, which are open to delegates and public alike.
